Background
Aparshakti was raised in Chandigarh in a Punjabi family. His father, P. Khurrana, is an astrologer and writer. He completed his schooling in Chandigarh and went on to study law before moving into media. Prior to acting, he worked as a radio jockey and as a television anchor, including stints on sports programming during cricket tournaments.

Early work in radio and television
Aparshakti began his career in broadcasting, working as a radio jockey in north India and later as a host on television. He anchored cricket-based shows during the Indian Premier League and the ICC World Cup, which raised his profile before his transition to film.
Film debut and supporting roles
He made his Hindi film debut in Nitesh Tiwari's Dangal (2016), produced by Aamir Khan Productions and Walt Disney Pictures, in which he played Omkar, the cousin and narrator of the Phogat sisters' story. The film became one of the highest-grossing Indian films and brought him wide recognition.
He followed this with supporting parts in Amar Kaushik's horror-comedy Stree (2018), Laxman Utekar's Luka Chuppi (2019) opposite Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon, and the comedy Pati Patni Aur Woh (2019). These roles established him as a dependable comic-supporting presence in mainstream Hindi cinema.
Lead roles and streaming work
In 2021 he played the lead in Helmet, directed by Satram Ramani and produced by Dino Morea and Sony Pictures Networks India, which premiered on ZEE5. Personal life
Aparshakti married Aakriti Ahuja, a Chandigarh-based businesswoman, in 2014. The couple have a daughter. He divides his time between Chandigarh and Mumbai.
