Background

Archana Puran Singh hails from Dehradun and entered the Hindi film industry in the mid-1980s. She married actor Parmeet Sethi, whom she met during the production of the film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), in which Sethi played the antagonist. The couple has two sons.

Film

Archana made her film debut in the late 1980s and went on to play a wide range of supporting roles in Hindi cinema. Among her notable appearances is the song sequence "Jumma Chumma De De" in the film Hum (1991), directed by Mukul S. Anand and starring Amitabh Bachchan. She has also been seen in films such as Raja Hindustani (1996), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), De Dana Dan (2009) and Bol Bachchan (2012), often in comic or character roles.

Television

On television, Archana hosted and acted in several programmes from the 1990s onward. She gained widespread recognition through her role in the sitcom Shrimaan Shrimati, where she played Prema, alongside Jatin Kanakia and Rakesh Bedi.
