Overview

Gangapuram Kishan Reddy (born 15 June 1960) is an Indian politician serving as the 25th Minister of Coal and 45th Minister of Mines since 2024. He has been a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) since 1980 and represents the Secunderabad Lok Sabha constituency in the Parliament of India.

Reddy was elected to the Lok Sabha from Secunderabad in 2019. Earlier in his parliamentary career, he served as the Minister of Tourism, Minister of Culture, and Minister for the Development of the North Eastern Region from 2019 to 2024.

Within the BJP, Reddy has held several organisational positions. He served as the floor leader of the BJP in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly in 2009, a role he relinquished after being appointed as the state BJP president of the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh. Following the formation of Telangana, he became the first state president of the Telangana BJP, serving from 2014 to 2016. He was appointed once again as Telangana BJP president on 4 July 2023 and continued in that role until 30 June 2025.
