Government Medical College, Anantnag (GMC Anantnag) is a tertiary referral government medical college located in Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir, India. Academics and institution
Admission to the undergraduate MBBS programme is through the National Eligibility and Entrance Test, with selection based on merit. The yearly undergraduate intake has been 100 students since the college's establishment in 2019. Clinical training is conducted in association with the District Hospital Anantnag (MMABH), which serves as the principal teaching hospital.
GMC Anantnag was the first medical college outside Srinagar district to receive permission for RT-PCR testing. A Co-WIN vaccination programme has also been undertaken at the institution.
The college published its first magazine, MEDCOLANG, in June 2021. On 13 and 14 May 2022, GMC Anantnag hosted KASOCON 2022, the North Zone Conference of the Indian Association of Surgical Oncology (IASO) — the first time such a conference was held in Jammu and Kashmir.
