Government Medical College, Kollam, formerly known as ESIC Medical College, Parippally, is the first Government medical college in Kollam district of Kerala, India. The institution was initially established by the Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), a Government of India establishment, and was subsequently acquired by the Government of Kerala.

Background
The college was originally set up at Parippally by the Employees State Insurance Corporation, a statutory body under the Government of India, as part of its network of medical education and healthcare institutions linked to the ESI scheme. The institution subsequently came under the administration of the Government of Kerala, becoming the first Government medical college to serve the Kollam district. The campus lies between Kollam city to the north and Paravur town to the west, placing it within easy reach of population centres in southern Kerala.
