It also affiliates a network of degree and professional colleges spread across the Krishna region, and conducts examinations and academic regulation for these affiliated institutions.
Organisation
Krishna University follows the standard structure of a state university in Andhra Pradesh, headed by a Vice-Chancellor appointed by the Governor of Andhra Pradesh, who serves as the Chancellor of state universities. Academic and administrative functioning is carried out through statutory bodies such as the Executive Council, the Academic Senate, and Boards of Studies for individual departments.
Campus
The university's main campus is situated in Machilipatnam, where its teaching departments, administrative offices, library and student facilities are located. Affiliated colleges extend its academic reach across towns in the Krishna region.
Significance
As one of the regionally focused state universities of Andhra Pradesh, Krishna University plays a role in widening access to higher education in coastal Andhra, supporting affiliated colleges and contributing to research output in the region.
