Overview
Mysore Medical College and Research Institute (MMC), also known as Government Medical College, Mysuru, is one of the oldest medical colleges in India. Located in the heart of Mysuru, adjacent to the Mysuru city railway station, the institution was founded in 1924 by Maharaja Krishnaraja Wadiyar IV. It was the first medical college to be established in the Karnataka region and the seventh in India. The college was previously known as Mysore Medical College before being renamed as Mysore Medical College and Research Institute.
