The Supreme Court of India ruled on the matter in 2021.

Leadership
Pallonji Shapoorji Mistry led the group for several decades and was succeeded by his sons Shapoor Mistry, who serves as chairman, and Cyrus Mistry, who oversaw various group businesses before his tenure at Tata Sons. Cyrus Mistry died in a road accident in Maharashtra in September 2022.
