Surendrapal Singh (born 25 September 1953), known professionally as Surendra Pal, is an Indian character actor who works primarily in Hindi cinema and television. Active since 1984, he is widely recognised for portraying mythological and historical figures on Indian television, including Dronacharya in Mahabharat, Amatya Rakshas in Chanakya, Tamraj Kilvish in Shaktimaan, and Daksha in Devon Ke Dev...Mahadev.

Career

Surendra Pal began his screen career in 1984 and went on to build a long body of work in Hindi films and television serials, typically in character roles drawn from mythology, history and contemporary drama.

Film work

His film credits include Khuda Gawah, Sehar and Jodhaa Akbar, among other Hindi productions in which he has appeared in supporting and character roles.

Television work

Pal is best known to Indian television audiences for several recurring mythological and historical roles:

  • Dronacharya in Mahabharat
  • Amatya Rakshas in Chanakya
  • Tamraj Kilvish, the principal antagonist in the superhero series Shaktimaan

In 2007, Pal established a production company with the aim of producing and directing Bhojpuri-language films. Under this venture he produced the Bhojpuri film Bhauji Ke Sister.
