The Central Institute of Hindi (Hindi: Kendriya Hindi Sansthan) is an Indian autonomous higher education and research institution dedicated to the teaching, training and propagation of the Hindi language. Headquartered in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, it functions under the Ministry of Education of the Government of India through the Central Hindi Directorate and the Department of Higher Education.

The institute was established to support the development of Hindi as the official language of the Union, as envisaged under Article 351 of the Constitution of India. Its mandate covers the training of Hindi teachers, preparation of pedagogical material, applied research in linguistics and language teaching, and the teaching of Hindi to non-Hindi speakers from India and abroad.
In addition to its headquarters at Agra, the institute operates regional centres in different parts of the country to extend its training and research activities. These centres are located in cities including Delhi, Hyderabad, Guwahati, Shillong, Mysore, Dimapur and Ahmedabad, and serve teachers and learners from surrounding regions.
The Central Institute of Hindi is one of the principal national agencies for the promotion of Hindi as a link language and as a medium of instruction. By training teachers from states where Hindi is not the first language and by introducing international students to Hindi, the institute contributes to language pedagogy, cultural exchange and the implementation of the official language policy of the Government of India.
